Development in the Pacific, Fung-Wong hitting northern Philippines

For the central/eastern Atlantic season, it has been a very slow and non-active season. Tropical Storm Update; Edouard Now Tropical Storm

A new Tropical Storm, named Edouard, has now formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. This cell was discovered on Thursday, over 1,000 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands. This is fifth named storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season, and will generally track in a northwestward direction over the next week or so before moving more towards the north early into next week.
